This is sick, now the conspiracy has spread to print media, soon it'll be on Treasure's website and they'll still say it's a overseas rumor.
I CAN'T TAKE IT!!! *tries to end life with a light gun*
NCS also has a blurp on the news section. *-neo

It's more of a reflex-shooter than a thinking, strategic shooter like RS. Once you know the levels, you will be able to roughly plan out what sections to be red and what sections to be white, but even then you have to constantly adjust your color phase on the fly as bullets rain down of both varieties.Quote:
I have no doubt that this game is good, however is it similar to Silvergun in that is more of a thinking shmup, rather than blast away or vice versa...whats the deal?
Ikaruga is definitely faster-paced than RS in that you are always blasting away and you only have one main weapon and one super attack. No choice of six different cannons as in RS. Also, the chain combo system is much easier in Ikaruga because there are only two colors of enemy, not three as in RS. That one color difference makes chaining MUCH easier and you hardly ever find yourself "waiting" to blast the right color to continue the chain. You blow away just about everything you can; chains are not as important in Ikaruga as they are in RS.
The dynamic of constantly changing colors does twist your mind (Should I be red? No, white! No, red!), so in that way it is a "thinking" shooter. But it's a FAST thinking shooter. Your head will spin and your brain may lock up a few times as you try to dodge opposite color bullets, soak up like color bullets, blast enemies, change phase and use the super weapon all at once!
more like "ikaruga for dreamcast rumors live!!!"Quote:
ikaruga for dreamcast lives!!!
I'm just going to ignore this and any future Ikaruga rumors and I suggest you all do the same. No sense getting our hopes up until the game is in our hands.
thanks.Quote:

that is good news, despite the quality of RS and all the praise it gets (because Treasure made it), i find it a little too slow paced and methodical for my shmupping tastes.

5 pages of hope on an"apparent" statement? somebody read the mag and tell us what it REALLY says.....
For all doubters, you guys didn't go past the first page of the magazine scan. Here's page 2 (among others)
http://isweb33.infoseek.co.jp/comput...v/ikaruga2.jpg
It's an interview with the Maegawa-shachou (company head? can never get those business roles right).
And as you can see in big letters at the bottom:
"Why are you releasing Ikaruga on DC now? That is..." and then the interview goes into length to talk about that.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm now a believer.
Oh, what a terrible haircut for Mr. Maegawa.
The evidence is surmounting and it's getting a bit harder to be a pessimist.
Is it possible to be pessimistic and still drool over something?
AAGGGHH!!! Okay, I'm glad you guys are too smart to be fooled by this elaborate ruse. Big giant magazine spreads saying "DC! Ikaruga! Stoic Battle!", company executives saying "we, Treasure, are releasing this game! Thank you!"Quote:

But it's obviously just a scam. Keep your arms crossed at the back of the room and look down your nose at all the suckers getting happy over this, because you shouldn't believe it "until it's in your hands."
In fact, even then you shouldn't believe it. You should rip off the shrink wrap (if you DARE, Ebay bloodsuckers!), play through the whole game at least ten times to make sure you don't get to the end, and have the screen flash a few times as the words:
"Haha, you American fool! Ikaruga for Dreamcast does not exist! Now get ready, you just bought Stretch Panic Tsu!!, the first ever true Treasure sequel!"
flash up on the screen.
Sorry Squoon, nothing against you personally, and I actually just need more sleep, but all this too-cool ultra-jadedness in the face of obvious evidence is driving me nuts.
Edit: Oh yeah, what's with all you people trying to move your KoF preorders? Buy both, dammit!! Have you no soul!?
