Well innova, it's quite obvious that there's a third party at work whos nefarious plot was to remind bahn and Nick just how bad it got when the old FC was around, hence making my job a lot harder.
But, here I am, keeping it at the top of the page, feeding the beast that's killing me. Why? Because if I'm going to fail, I'm going to do it with class, good sir.

This thread is Vanilla Coke![]()
If my memory of her has an expiration date, let it be 10,000 years.
Id like those who werent around for this to note that the end of Fight Club in no way represented what Fight Club was.
And yeah, that includes Nick, who wasnt around to really see what kind of board it was before everyone went nuts.
Its a shame that so many pretended the board never existed when it was around, and that this is all they know about it; although I do find it pretty funny that those people, while admiting that they never stopped in, site this incident in this very thread to rationalize never coming by. I guess it never occured that if things like this were all that happened there, it would have been deleted long before Kenshin came back.
What killed FC? Well, the board itself ruffled more than a few feathers, but what killed it was having an admin with the mentality of a six year old. The place went from a collection of folks with skin thick enough to take what it was, to a resurgence of this admins enemies.
With all of that out of the way, I think it could work now. We have three admins, four if you want to count "the rougue." Its good to have a system of checks and balances. No offense to Bahn, but Kenshin should have been cut off LONG before Nick had to come back and delete the whole board. Probably in that first MMC thread. Sure, MAtt kicked it off, and Im not justifying what he did at all - Thing is, he doesnt have admin status, and someone who does can take things entirely too far if they take something thats childish to begin to heart.
Im only stating all of this, which is mostly obvious, because it seems like FC might be getting another go in the near future, and it would be nice to not have old mistakes repeated.
So, in wrap up, lets not do a few things if and when Fight Club is resurrected:
A) Make stupid joke threads. Oddly enough, the staff seemed to kick most of these off. Go figure.
B) If a mod or admin is taking things too far, there are more than enough others to take care of the situation now, so do so. Dont let them run on a wild, mentally unstable fit. Its not cool.
C) A poster whos gone WAY over the top can be dealt with easily, as has been shown time and again. Take care of them, too. Just dont do it with silly clubs. Delete posts or, if theyre repeat offenders, either dish out one hell of a warning or take them out. Oddly, it seems like the place with theleast ammount of rules has to be run like a dictatorship (not in the sense where things like the MMC are needed, rather in the sense that you cannot let ANYONE cross the line without some form of punishment, or else everyone will), but thats just the way it is.
And also, just have no tolerance policy on out and out trolling on the main boards if in fact you do reinstate FC. The best way to keep it from spilling onto the rest of the boards is to simply take care of those he refuse to keep it there. FC was a hell hole by the end, sure, but the resurgence of BS on the main boards since its destruction cannot be denied.
The place is needed, it just has to be kept in check. If none of you want to do it, hell, I will. If you dont like that idea, theres quite a few others who Im sure would love to do the job alongside Bonus.
So I forced my hands in my pockets and felt with my thumbs and gallantly handed her my very last piece of gum.
Orochi brought up a very good point, most every person who took part in the Fight Club forum knew damn well that they were entering a forum designated for disputes and conflicts. As a matter of fact, a warning page should be shown as you link to the board, "If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen."
Not to mention one of the best qualities of Fight Club of old was the ability for the mods to say "This crap isn't about games/religion/random OT question anymore, it's come down to disputes of people and not opinions, it's getting sent to Fight Club." Fight Club served the purpose of keeping the crap away from boards where people might actually be looking to have a serious discussion, and it did its job well. Not to mention many who frequented Fight Club had not the right, but the privelage, to make those acting like idiots feel like the total asses they were, and they did their job even better.
With that, I would also like to say, I frequented Fight Club ever since it first appeared, and frequented up to the last hour of its demise. It was there I had some of the greatest discussions and conversed with some of the greatest people I've ever had the honor of meeting on the Internet. It's been over a year now since GameGO! came to be and I signed up at the GameGO! Message Boards. I've been talking with pretty much the same group of people on the Internet for over a year. It doesn't seem like that long ago, but yes, its been a long-ass time. Do what you will admins, ignore my cries for its resurrection, talk badly about it among your fellow posters, convince every new person that signed up on these boards from today on that it was Satan himself in purified message board form. Because through and through, as long as I've been conversing with pretty much the same batch of people, Fight Club was the best of times. I will never think of Fight Club as the breeding ground of hatred and Photoshopped kitties like some, to me it will always represent unity.

Thing is, those of us that missed the whole FC goings-on didn't know how bad it got and only found out when the board was destroyed. Hence our only knowledge of what happened in there was this thread, which seemed a damn good reason to have not gone in there. Its a shame that so many pretended the board never existed when it was around, and that this is all they know about it; although I do find it pretty funny that those people, while admiting that they never stopped in, site this incident in this very thread to rationalize never coming by.
I never saw the rest of the board, so I don't actually know what it was like.
Rise from your grave...
Well, I would usually make a short, snippy comment like, "Drama queens," but
a) everyone is stating his case so eloquently, and
b)that kind of sarcasm is best-suited for Fight Club.
If only we had one, eh?
"And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows."
- Matthew 24: 2-8

Whoooo-hooo!
It amazes me that every time I return to check out the boards I have just missed the kids swimming in the shit, and they are all showered up and cleaned off by the time I find threads like this.
