Does it fit into the Generation 1 storyline? If so, how is Grimlock around when Prime first becomes leader of the Autobots?
This came out this past Wednesday, but since I buy my comics on Thursdays, I just got around to reading it. For those that don't know, it takes place at about the time Optimus Prime became Autobot leader and the Decepticons had just formed. It explores the Prime's inner thinking now that he has just had leadership thrust on him. As it is only the first issue, it is merely setting up what is to come. I won't spoil it for anyone, so I'll mainly talk about the art. And boy is it incredible! Every TF that you are familiar with has been redesigned, and all for the better. Some, like Grimlock, even have different transformations. The colorists are right there for the ride trying to steal your attention, and they do just that. Even if the story were ass(which it isn't so far) I would recommend it for the art alone. Looking forward to more.
Yeah, its Generation 1. They don't explain how he's around then. I'm assuming Grimlockwas created(or born or whatever you call it when referring to TF) before the other Dinobots.

Yeah, I just grabbed it today, and I too, was wondering about Grimlock.

I should pick it up. It's made by 88mph Studios, but are they affiliated with the Dreamwave comics? And the look of Optimus looked different, is the art as good/better than the Generation 1 Dreamwave comics?
Name: Rock
Town: Arcadia
Dreamwave published it, so I'd guess so. And yeah, I think the art is a tad bit better than the G1 comics.

How does this fit into G1 if they're redoing character designs and transformations? That doesn't make any sense. It sounds like they either have no clue what they're doing with the continuity or they want to take it to an alternate universe.
EDIT: wait, is this on cybertron? In that case, forget the preceding paragraph....
Yup, four million years previous to Earth, actually.Originally posted by Lhadatt
