Thread: What have you been watching lately?

  1. Poltergeist - Meh, it was ok. One scene in particular is cool. A guy starts ripping the skin off his face. 5/10

Shallow Hal - Pretty funny in bits, but a little to corny, with a moral you can get from the cover. 6/10

  2. Poltergeist was pretty good. I also liked part 2 and 3. 3 being my favorite(most people dont agree on that ), it just creeps me out(something just a few movies can do).

Shallow Hal was ok. There were some funny moments, but nothing truly spectacular.

Ok, Watched some more movies over the course of past 2 days:

The Guardian - Low budget take and mix of Fallen and Hidden: When during Desert Storm battle in Iraq, Ancient Demon gets released into the world, former soldier, who is a cop must fight him, and protect the special child that demon is trying to kill. Had some decent action and blood, but nothing exra ordinary. Ice-T had a cameo as a crazy drug dealer

Dragstrip Girl - Being a huge fan of Mark Dacascos, I trying to collect all of his movies. So I picked up this, made for Showtime movie. Remake of old movie, about forbidden love between poor car thief/drag racer/vallet attendant (Dacasscos) and a rich girl. Decent acting, and the girl was very cute Dacascos was good as usual

I Spy - Ok comedy, with some decent comedy and action. Murphy was little too annoying, and Wilson was little too whiny. Famke Jenson is hot as usual

  3. I just watched BATTLE ROYALE again, I've seen it about 5-6 times since I got the DVD last weekend, I love this movie

  4. Been watching all of Peter Jacksons old stuff
    Meet the Feebles
    Bad Taste
    Dead Alive
If anyone here hasn't seen all of them, I recommend them. Come on, Meet the Feebles has Muppets doing heroine, what more could you ask!!!. Oh yeah, and been on a Terry Gilliam trilogy binge.
    College Sucks

  5. Meet the Feebles was hilarious

  6. Tremors - Awesome movie from my child hood. plus Kevin Bacon is in it! 8/10

The Transporter - This is new to cinemas here, and all I can say is OMG. The plot is pretty standard, but it has some of the best action scenes I've ever seen. God bless Luc Besson. 8/10

  7. Tremors is indeed very fun film. Cool performances by Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward, good creature fx, funny jokes. One of my favorite moster movies.

Transported was ok, but PG13 rating hurt it, and the plot had tons of holes. Action scenes were excellent, but I wish that Staham character was more bad ass(as killing more of his enemies, not being little too Jackie Chan, as letting his opponents go, to have them come back for him 5 minutes later). Also film seriously lacked some good gun fights, and guns being fired at the hero while he hides, doesnt count

Watched 2nd Season of 24 last night, and it looks pretty interesting. I missed most of the 1st Season, so I'm trying to keep up with it this time.

  8. Yeah, the Transporter definitely could have used more deaths and a killer gun fight. if they put in the gunfight, then it would be a true classic in my books.

  9. Recently watched:

Bruce Campbell vs Army of Darkness DVD ...funny stuff. The original ending's hilarious, and the commentary track's worth the price of the DVD by itself.

Rounders DVD ...excellent film (I'll be purchasing the soundtrack). Yeah, I suck at cards.

Ring and Ring 2 Tartan DVDs ...I liked them, the second more than the first. I probably would have liked Ring more had I not already seen the remake and known what was going to happen (for the most part) throughout. Definitely watch them alone and at night.

The Hire DVD ...fantastic! Ticker just premiered, today, over at bmwfilms.com. Good stuff.

    Will be watching soon:

Drunken Master ...not to be mistaken with The Legend of Drunken Master, its "sequel." Just picked up the DVD yesterday. I also picked up Iron Monkey 2, but am thinking about returning it. Has anyone seen it and can tell me if it's worth owning... I've read some bad reviews.

    Gon
...because without the bitter, baby, the sweet ain't as sweet.
