(kinda) mid-semester progress reports!

man i hate those hour break btwn classes...it is sooo tempting to just say "fuck it" and get in the car and drive home skipping the next class!!

High school? Utter crock of crap. College is way more demanding. But I like it much better.

So far....I have mostly art classes, my Art History class is too early to tell, we've only taken one test. Visual Design, Computers in Art and Drawing 3 are all going good.

And for some reason, Geology is kicking my ass, just the lecture part though, I'm getting my revenge in the lab.

Art History....I haven't gone in a week. It asks for memorization of artist names (which I can do), art works created (ditto), and dates (which I suck at). The class is good, albeit a bit boring at times. I have a midterm next week, a term paper the week after, and then smooth sailing.

Figure Drawing....beyond fun. It's hard, laborius, and redundant work, but it keeps your skills sharp. I've been able to take a better look at proportions, lighting, and composition of the human figure than ever before.

Karate....Shotokan style (no lie) and much fun. I haven't had a class that required physical activity in ohhhh, 4 - 5 years. It's been a lot of work, but worth it. I feel much more active than I have in a long time.

Japanese...shoot me. No, do it now. Please....you have no idea the torture I endure...ummmmmmmmmmmmm...okay, it's not that bad. Probably the worse idea ever if you a) just need the units or b) think you're importer-otaku-deluxe, because this isn't a 'fun' class. It's difficult, challenging, and requires you to be there everyday, else you become so behind that there's no way to pass. Being the book-nerd that I am, it's fun for that sense of challenge but I wouldn't reccomend it to just anyone. Oh yeah, and I have a comprehensive midterm this week and an essay entirely in Japanese due next week.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd...aside from work as a computer sales dreg on campus, that's how things are for me.

Yeah, we finished Ancient Egypt in Art History. There were no artist names thankfully....and as far as dates, we got about a hundred years of leaway on some of the pieces. Next test is Nov.1.

And life drawing is fun, it just gets a little monotonous after a bit.

uhm.... im not in college, and its only been six weeks of school, but i have a 4.0, and AP statistics is the worst fucking class evar.

so..... yeah.

today in school i learned that i hate it.

but photography is damned fun. except when you forget to wash your hands after you use the fixer stuff on the film. last week my hands turned green o_O
