Saying you gave up on Smallville after season X is like saying you only read 3 Twilight books.

Not really. The Twilight books are written by one person and are a pretty singular vision. It's fair to think that if you didn't like one Twilight book, you wouldn't like the other ones, and vice versa. TV shows have writers, producers, actors, and a network (or in the case of Smallville, 2 networks) who might all want different things at different times. It's not uncommon for TV shows, especially long running ones, to ebb and flow in quality.

If you're interested I would. Please note though, the first couple of seasons rely on a meteor Freak of the Week while Clark is learning his powers. They eventually get into arcs that span entire seasons.
