Actually you unlock hard mode when you beat normal mode offline.

Just do a ruins run on single and be at least Level 24.

To clarify:

When playing offline, you have to have beaten Normal mode offline to select Hard mode.

If someone else starts a game online in Hard mode, you can join it, regardless of your progress in single player, as long as you are at least lv.20. I believe same goes for starting your own games. Ie: if you are lv.20, you can start a Hard game whether or not you have beaten Normal offline.

V-Hard = lv.40

Ulti = lv.80


Same rules apply to offline multiplayer. I however am not sure if you are allowed to start a Hard game online if you are less than lv.20, even if you've beaten Normal mode offline, but most people are past lv.20 when they finish offline Normal anyway.

Bonuskun, it was great playing with you and (Regus?) this afternoon. Episode II is crazy! Those levels..>GAH! I'm used to my good ole Ruins and Mines, none of that sealab haha. I'm now Level 19 BUT I finally have some good spells (resta 5, foie 6, shifta/deband, anti, etc). My problem is I never have enough $$$ to buy fluids But tomorrow I can play Hard mode if you care to play again.
