The soft reset doesn't save you from the BSOD.
I am SO fucking close to giving up on this and waiting for the Xbox version.
The only real problem is that I can't return the GC version.

From what I've read PSO for both GC/xbox is an emulated version of the DC games running on the new systems (ie. not recoded from the ground up for each respective system).
Following that line of thinking, it would seem like the xbox version will have the same bugs/problems as the GC rev.
Are you using a 251 memory card? I read the compression can mess up online play something fierce.

I have never had this problem hit me at all so something you have is not running properly. You should start addressing some faults with your equipment/power.

The Xbox version had to have some changes done in order to add support for the friend tracking, so I doubt they're using 100% of the GC code. Then again, Sonic Team has been of questionable quality as of late and it would not shock me if the Xbox version of PSO is more fucked up than burned ice cream in one way or another.
I'm still looking forward to the Xbox version because typing with that make believe keyboard is pissing me off. If one more damn person hotkeys "Shifta/Deband", "Revive Me", or "Who gots rare 4 TrADe?" and keeps flashing it over and over I'm going to scream.

I agree, offline multiplayer mode makes me dizzy! @_@ I tried it with my roommate and I can't stand it though I do have one use for it..
I experimented with the episode two mags that I heard about and after one failure, due to a slight misunderstanding in the stat ratio, I have finally created an episode two mag which is actually a yellow (rare) item. I plan on making one of each types, and will take requests, though I get the first sato I make.. ;D The use I have for offline multiplayer is when the mag is level 99 I do a hand off to the appropriate character type to feed it one more time to make the finished rare mag. (Note, after the mag has evolved into the rare mag type at 100, it will not de-evolve back into another type of mag if you feed it, like a normal mag will; I tested this immediatelly, as I need a mag with power and defense, more than the basically even stats you need to get this sort of evolution.)

Note on the mag creation, the stats /have/ to be even, this is where I messed up because I didn't understand; When it says def + pow = dex + mind, it means you need to set defense to 30, power to 20, dex to 30 and mind to 20, so it would be like 30/20/30/20 to get the mag to evolve right at level 100.
I made a nidra this morning and I am very happy with the results, it is a very cute mag. *beams*
On a side note, Korly, buy a new memory card and transfer your character over to it, I do believe you can do that, though not sure how exactly as we just got the GC the day PSO came out.
