Thread: PSO Episode I&II

  1. I am still at a low level (level 12) and I am playing through some of the quests for quick money and exp. Since I played the DC ver of PSO to death.. I am more interested in Ver 2, so that I can experience the new stuff. I made it through the first trail, but the second trial on the spaceship seems a bit too tough for me. I assume once I clear that trail the version 2 will open up to some new areas, monsters and hopefully weapons.

I did find an item called add slot , which was never in the DC version of PSO. So it appears there maybe some new items. I am not sure yet.

I guess my question is :

What does ver 1 have to offer ?

Is there new weapons ,armor & mags in version 2?

Sorry for basic questions. Maybe I should pick up the guide, if its out yet.

    Oh man where to begin.

Ok Since you played the heck out of PSO Version 1 then I don't need to explain what all you could have possibly seen in that. When the Dreamcast came out with PSO Version 2, Battle Mode was introduced along with Ultimate Mode which consisted of new monster types that were much more powerful than before and the introudction of Challange Mode.

There are of course new Armor & Sheilds starting from Level 101. up. I just scored a Guard Wave so I'm happy with that right now.

Generally tho there are a ton of new Types of Rare Mags which you can raise by feeding them upto Level 100 by keeping some stats on the mag at certain levels when it hits 100.

It's a long process to explain but if you played the hell out of Version 1, expect some of the newer things you can see and do now to blow you away.

  3. Woo!

Beat the VR Temple in ep2 last night on hard, pretty fun stuff.

I saw a Love Rappy, but wasn't able to hit it the second time to see what it dropped...

And my mag hit lvl 100.

  4. I have about 8 stores (funco's,EB's) and they all say that Nintendo has given up on online games right now and Sega has discontinued PSO 1/2 for the GC. Whether this is 100% fact or not, does not really matter to me. I just think that PSO since it has been on the market , has not had a chance to survive. First it came out on a system that was basically on its way out. Now its on one of the top 3 systems that basically has quit on it.

Sega has not been perfect in their release of the game. Mistakes made on the pay ot play model, cheating causing players to quit playing online for fear of getting BSOD or Nolled.

    Is PSO destined to fail??

Maybe if it is released on the XBoX and played on the XBOX live it will have a true chance for survival.

    All completely false.

Do a search through the boards, and you'll find a post I made about this.

Basically it says all of that is BS.

Nintendo is still supporting PSO and Sega.

Nintendo is still making bba and modem adapters.

Sega is still producing copies of PSO.

And Innovation and Mad Catz both are looking at plans to make a GC keyboard controller.

If you're not convinced send an email to SEGA or Nintendo and ask them about the BBA/PSO situation.

Bottom line: Just because you work at a gamestore doesn't "make you in the know" or privy to "inside" information.

  6. Thanks Kidnemo

I am looking forward to getting online soon. Hopefully this week.

I guess until the keyboard comes out it will be tough to communicate. Maybe I will see you online.

I'm playing exclusively offline multiplayer right now.

I have a nice long vacation coming up next week, and I'm debating getting a bba but I dunno.

I really want to hold off getting online until the keyboard controller is released...

Not sure if I can hold out that long though.

  8. Lucas and the others that play online... Do you want to create games on the same ship and block?

I am online now as Rusty Dusty
Level 13 Force (i need to build up)

How about Vega last block as suggested before?

  9. Vega 07 is where we live..

    The versus book looks fabulous.

The release date has been getting pushed back further and further ever since the games release.

It was slated as the 20th of this month for a while, but after yesterday the release got pushed again to the 28th...

I hit 35 last night, woo!
