Shenmue is a great experience, but merely a good game. Waiting around for shit to happen was way to dull, and the fight sequences were like a bad Konami beat 'em up. Perhaps Shenmue II will change my mind.
SoulCalibur (DC version)
Super Metroid
Ocarina of Time
Metal Gear Solid
Valkyrie Profile

I don't know if "Mario Kart" should count. In my book it's 10 out of 10, and it DID start the 'kart craze', but it's not an "epic" type game. If this were a thread for the coolest games out there, I would vote for it.
Loved "Yoshi Island", I think it should count for it's art and unique game play.
"Eternal Darkness" maybe.
"Zelda, OoT"... Even though I was one of the few who liked "Zelda, MM" better, OoT was the first to fetcher that art and game play.
"Kirby's Dream Course" maybe.
I still thing "Donkey Kong Country" was, no doubt.
This one I'm going to get a LOT of shit for... The arcade version of "Killer Instinct". I was so excited about this game and "Ultra 64". That type of combo system was new and IMHO, awesome, (I don't just smashing buttons). "Street Fighter" for it's first (then) original game play and 'special moves'.
Ah yes, add Chrono Trigger and Metal Gear Solid to my list.
I'm still debating on C:SotN. It's an incredible game, one of the best I've ever played... but a masterpiece? Almost. Still has a few flaws in it that could be fixed to improve it, if it at least had a New Game + variation (where the enemies get stronger each time) like someone mentioned in an earlier thread, I'd definately give it that label.
