Now this looks very interesting- I've heard of the game obviously, but I hadn't seen those stage maps. I'd really like to play this and see how well that works or not.

Yep. You battle against a fighter just like yours! (minus the cool weapons). It's a pain in the ass to bring down, though.

I think the same. But then again, I'm a guy who's totally bummed that I can't pilot a helicopter in DOJ. It's the little things that float my boat.

It looks brighter than the darker themed DDP-DOJ. But I'm having a shmup overload as it is now, so Cave can take their time with it
