Thread: Gunbird 2!

  1. Can you believe I died on 1-1 during that play?
I'd restart. Right out of the gate with a handicap.

What do you guys think a good starting stage rank is for loop practice? I "crank it up" to 5, which is pretty low, but better than 0.

For the 2-random stages, I recommend setting the StageRank
at 9, which best simulates a stage in 2-3. Again, I found
no differences among the 2-1, 2-2, and 2-3 versions of a
particular stage, so there's no need to practice playing
each version. But to be sure that you're practicing on the
highest difficulty possible, play the 2-3 version.

Also, for these stages, I recommend setting the LifeTime
at 8 and ShotRank at 3 to start each stage at the highest
rank possible. Any lower and bullets would be slower and
less numerous--not a good way to practice.

Meh, I would too, except it was at the arcade. Thankfully no one was watching then. I find myself restarting if I die before the 1-5 boss, which is suprisingly often.

One thing I forgot to mention is that in the game where I died in 1-1, the 1-6 difficulty level (entering with the highest power level) was as hard as it would be entering with all my lives! I hoped that death in 1-1 could replace the death I usually die at the 1-5 boss, but no...

  4. Little coin chain update: 47

...and I finally made some real progress-

    979,900 - cigsthecat / Tavia 1-7

I can actually see myself completing it now if I can just get my 1-6 boss strategy in order. I just used a bunch of bombs this time.

Mode7 has stressed this point in the past. Rank rises quickly from 1-5 onwards. No one has it down to a science, but I'd wager that a death on 1-4 would see full rank by early 1-6, let alone your death on 1-1. Assume that if a full stage and change has passed since you died, you're fairly close to full rank.

That's my everygame strategy. I figure I have no place else to use them or I will lose all in saving, so it doesn't matter.

  7. 1,235,200 - Bern-D / Alucard 2-3

Just making sure I get a good score before the arcade
manager decides to lose the game, if he still wants to.
I'll probably write about the experience later.

  8. 1,294,200 - Rob / Morrigan 2-1

Good scoring game for me. Had almost all points before 2-1, which also says how pathetic the 2-1 showing was. Those little propeller pods' suicide bullets got me again.

  9. 1,245,600 - Bern-D / Alucard 2-4

    The legacy continues... ;)

I maintained control over the second round until the 2-3
United States boss. I could've died before, but I had a
better clue when to drop my bombs. That helps plenty.

  10. 1,257,500 - Bern-D / Alucard 2-3

I lost my three reserve lives in the first round, so I
conserved a few bombs, hoping that something good would
    come out of this...
