And Hitman 2 is one of the best games of the year, despite the outcry. People are such pussies anymore. While we're at it, GTA: VC features negative Italian stereotypes, so I suppose I should turn into a sensitive crybaby and ask for it to be banned also. Feh.

Ummm... your race is 'trash'??? I believe I was talking about race (and sex too, now that I think of it). If a game maker wants terrorists in a fucking game, make it there own race. It's not that fucking hard to NOT be racist.

How is it stereotyping? Because some terrorists happen to be their race, they think it's all a big plot against them? I don't call it stereotyping when I watch a movie that features a white serial killer. I look at it as a fictional serial killer who happens to be white. Why does everyone always think that the world is against them? NO WHERE in the game does it say "this game is an actual representation of real life". It also never sates that all of the bad guys in the game are based on real people and everyone that belongs to that race are just as evil. What about the italians in the first level who are, surprise, portrayed as mobsters! I don't hear anyone whining about that. What do we have to do, make all bad guys aliens, or robots as was already suggested? Then we'd get people saying "Stop holding my robot/alien brothers down!"

If you aren't of that race, you can't tell them how to feel. End of story.

Last I checked, my copy of Hitman 2 did not come packaged with a book of propaganda stating to kill all the other races. Race should not come into play with videogames.

Did the developer use a race in anyway? Then they MADE race come into this.

None of it is real. If you are sick and twisted enough to pretend you are killing all of the other races, that is your problem. The game was not intended to be taken that way. You are meant to be killing the "bad guys".

Bad guys who just happen to be a hateful stereotype. Wake the fuck up.

I hate to ruin the fun, but last I checked "bad guys" come in all colors. If you are offended that there happens to be a "bad guy" of your race in a damn videogame, than maybe you should look at the real world. Every day people are killed. It's not some faceless race doing it. Every race has "bad guys". I don't think there is anything more I can say other than "Get over it".

Your race wasn't being treated unfairly in Hitman 2, and I'm more than sure if you had any pride, you would be pissed if it was your race. You are in NO position to tell another race how to feel about a racist stereotype. In a game, movie or otherwise.

Hmm, I'll have to watch the series again, because I don't remember anything like this.

Pretty much anything outside of what's actually said in the games is "side-story" stuff anyway.

It's not about being PC, it's about respect. I respect other races enough that if they feel a game/movie/etc is racist and unfairly depicting them, the company should alter the characters in question, or pull the product. Reenforcing stereotpes in the name of entertainment (or 'art') is one of the stupidest things IMO. Yes, lets keep the fires of hate burning, and hurt the collective emotions of a race, just for the sake of a fucking game.

I think thats the whole point, Sikhs are not Arabic or even gentically related to the Arabs, they are some sort of Indian, which is mixture of Asian Dravidians, and Central Asian Persian/Mongolian stock, where as Arabs are straight out of Africa Semites.

They are not even Muslims where and the only reason most Americans see them as Arabs because they dont know any personally and they wear funny hats, they are sick of it, thus the ban. Make sense?

The Sikhnet website is terribly uninteresting. It's not nearly as fun as that gay youth organization that was fighting to have DDR banned. Read through the Hitman 2 petition and they've managed to boost the # of organizations supporting them from 35 to "over 100". Eidos must be shakin' in their boots over how quickly the anti-Hitman 2 fever is spreadin'! If I were the Sikh's I'd ignore this game, cuz they're just giving it free press. And if I were a game publisher I'd be start up a phony activist group for every game I release - press releases from fringe groups gain are much more effective than naming a kid Turok or adveritising on gravestones.
