New DQ announced before 2003
The Nihon Keizai Shinbun is reporting that Enix has plans to unveil the newest installment in the Dragon Quest series at this Winter's Jump Festival 2003.
The event takes place before the end of this year in Japan.
Enix has not made any announcement regarding which console the game will show up on. If rumors are to be believed, however, it could show up on any of the current generation of consoles.
We'll have more as the Jump Festival approaches.

Yay! Crap!
Nah, that announcement is that they are leaving games, and going back to cards forever. I'm serious, I read it on a message board somewhere, from some guy that heard it from an EB clerk who heard it from a company rep.
Everyone knows it's going Wonderswan exclusive.

should be interesting
my money would be on the PS2 but i could see it happening on the Cube
i just cant see it happening on the box though
i guess well see by the end of the year
if its cube it would mean a huge jump in sales thats for sure
No, john, you don't care about sales and, nothing will make cube's jump in huge numbers.
If mario could not do it, nothing will. Not all the gay elves in the world or talking mushrooms either.

Man, if Nintendo really does land this thing as a Cube exclusive, that'd put the system right back in the thick of things in Japan pretty much instantly.
