I think that main thingie's ears are cool, all big and floppy like a striped rabbit. That's all I have to add.

Well, I did play the demo... and I wasn't too impressed. It just seemed like a bunch of play mechanics were thrown together for no reason. To me, it played more as a tech demo with weird-looking characters than an actual game.
thats exactly how i felt after playing the demo too.
I just didnt see anything there in the demo that made me want to buy and play the game.
Sly Cooper and Mark of Kri i need to pick up one of these days though
Lhadatt, yeah it really does, its a much better game. We got the demos of both them at work like awhile ago before Mario Sunshine came out, and while i played throught he Sly Demo quite a few times, after like 10 - 15 minutes with the R&C demo i had my fill. Ill still give the final game a try one of these days cause you really shouldn't make a full judgement on a game based off a demo, but id imagine the majority of the gameplay its self was locked down and finished in the demo and thats just what left me feeling meh towards it.
Sly Cooper is amazing, and I believe Sucker Punch is Western.Originally posted by NeoZeedeater
Mario, Sonic, and Klonoa are examples of good character design.
As much as I love many Western developers, they can't create cartoon-ish characters that don't look ridiculously bad.
Not to mention Conker.
Rayman looks like a damn idiot. A tube of Crest with detached limbs.Originally posted by Lhadatt
Rayman has personality. R&C just don't.
I still want to hear a comparison to JFG. Anyone?
JFG vs. R+C- I was actually thinking about how these games are very similar a couple days ago. Similarities: platforming with weapons, traveling to different planets, different enviorments (although R+C has much better enviornments, and that's saying something because I liked JFG's), sci-fi story involving alien race seeking world domination, etc.
Differences: the platforming control in R+C is a lot better than in JFG, aiming weapons is easier in R+C (the game has auto-lock, I'm not sure if you can turn it off), more weapons in R+C, less tedious collecting in R+C (the only thing you collect is bolts to buy weapons, there's none of that "you didn't collect every last fucking tribal, so we won't let you finish the game" crap like in JFG), etc.
If you have a specific question about the two games, just ask.
Completely agree with Burgundy here. I loved Sly Cooper. Best Platformer for me this year, and I am not a platormers fan by any meansOriginally posted by burgundy

When I play R&C, it reminds me of JFG a lot Burg. There are a lot of gameplay similarities and the whole game structure is a lot like JFG. They even used a lot of the same sound effects. I loved JFG, and so far R&C is awesome too. The geometry engine is unreal in this game. It makes the other two systems not look so powerful.
