Thread: LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring extended edition

  1. LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring extended edition

I love the Fellowship of the Ring, and every review I've read of the extended edition says it is the preferable version to watch . I can't wait for this Tuesday. Here is a review of the set from my favorite dvd site, Digitalbits-

Here is what Moriatry at AICN had to say about it-

I'll probably spend a whole week with this movie, with all 4 commentaries and docs.

  2. Yeah, Ext Ed should be great. I waited out on buying LOTR when I heard about it, and I think it was a right decision. All the reviews I read were positive, and extra footage included, adds up to the film. I especially look forward extended battle scenes

  3. Yeah it was the right decision to wait. I will not be picking this up, as I already have the first edition released. It was a good movie, but not one I would spend extra on for an extended edition.

  4. I have question for you Depair, would you buy the extended DVD, if you have already the first crapy DVD of LOTR?

  5. I would have sold the first dvd set, and then got a new one

  6. I got the extended version yesterday and if you're a fan of the films it's WELL worth the $26.99 (I bought at BJ's - similar to Price Club).

Why you should buy this if you have LOTR DVD already:

    1.) Obviously, the extra footage.
2.) The multitudes of bonus material
3.) Up to $10.50 off your movie ticket price of The Two Towers (coupon).
4.) The original edit of the film is NOT included here, so don't feel badly about keeping the first and picking this one up.

I'm not going to go into specifics about the additional footage but if you loved the original as much as i did you will not be disappointed by the additional scenes.

  7. Coupon for lower ticket price for Two Towers sounds like a great deal

  8. Got mine today at target. It was marked on sale at $29.99, but when it rang up, it was only $27.11 after tax. You guys should go check out target to see if the price is lower at all of them.

  9. I think Best Buy has if for $25 before tax. I was there, getting my subwoofer and optical cables(with that purchase dont have money for LOTR now ), and guy in front of me was getting that.

  10. Got mine at Target today for $24. Probably gonna watch it tomorrow night. I wanted the super $70 set with the bookends, but I just couldn't afford it.
bastard of the new world order.
