It's funny. I was wondering why they could not develop a technology to determine automatically when a puck crosses the goal line about 10 years ago. It's a simple concept, but the key will be to make it precise enough to be acurate within less than a centimetre, especially when you consider how the puck can be at different angles or whatnot.
I guess the technology can't be any worse than the crappy goal judges.
Oh, and I don't like the idea of the goalposts glowing.. but I don't see why it could not activate the existing goal light, or something more subtle anyway.
Hmmmm....Maybe they could have lasers come out of goal posts and put a sensor of sorts in the puck. That would be outrageously expensive though. I'm not fond of glowing nets, but it's definitely better and faster than the crappy ass goal judges we got in the NHL. Oh well.....
so whats to determine if its a puck or a stick or some other piece of the goalies equiptment that triggers that thing unless i just don't undertsand it?
Yeh, I hope Snyder pulls through. He is still in critical condition.
Heatley was driving so fast in his Ferrari, he's lucky he didn't kill any bystanders or other motorists too. I really hope he does not get away with it just because he's famous. I lost a tonne of respect for the guy.
im waiting to say if he was drinking or not. apparently he's got 4 misdemeanors and 1 felony count against him. a fuckin shame so close to the season opener.
Well, the most important thing is the health of the players - esp Snyder since he's critical......... but as for Heatley, if he was drinking then he's an idiot for driving under the influence. If not, he's still an idiot for driving that fast.. maybe even more of an idiot for not having the excuse of being impaired. There is no reason/excuse why he should have been driving like that.
