Thread: Pikmin Poll

  1. #1

    Pikmin Poll

Pikmin seems to generate quite varied opinions and I'm wondering what the most common opinion is on this game.

Personally, I love the game. I think it's EAD's best Gamecube game so far.

  2. I loved it when I first got it - but now it grates on me. I still haven't finished it, because everytime I start up I just KNOW I'll be pressured to get 2 or more ship parts even though I have no idea where I'm going half the time, and the other half I'm unsure if I'm getting to each part as fast I possibly can. If it wasn't so tight when it came to time, I could probably hold out longer, but as it is...well, let's just say getting that 15th ship piece only to know that you won't have enough time to get it back...and then having to restart for the 6th time that day...

well...it's not much fun. I guess I need to be in the mood for it.

  3. I loved what I played, but didn't have the memory card space to get very far. The time limit does suck out the ass.

  4. I liked what I played a lot too, there was just very little to play.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  5. This poll needs a "neutral" or "middle of the road" option. I think the game is OK.. nothing special, not bad, just ok.

I'd still rather go play Lemmings tho.

  6. yeah, i have to say, i think this is EAD's best GameCube game. it's just sooo EAD. Sunshine is really awesome, but Pikmin is just so...can't put my finger on it. i dunno, the game just has excellent design and flow. loved the style too. Animal Crossing is a great EAD game too, but i still see that as a Nintendo 64 game. im sure if it was originally developed on GameCube hardware, it would be sooooo much more. i just don't think it's fair comparing it to original GameCube games. but yeah, i think Pikmin is EAD's best work on the system yet.

i managed to get all 30 parts in 23 days my first time through. there's nothing wrong with the time limit, it gives you more then enough time.

  7. then I would love some advice on getting through the game...because I'd really like to finish it, but I just can't stand having to restart over and over.

Where is the option for "never played it"?

Maybe this is obvious but my advice would be to do "test runs". Have Olimar take his time scouting out the situations, come up with a plan, and then reload your last save. That way you're not wasting as much time puzzle-solving.

  10. Loved it. It gave me the same feeling I got when I'd get a new 1st party NES game as a kid. I didn't mind the time limit at all. I got the bad ending the first time through, which was fine with me because I had so much fun that I wanted to play through the game again anyway. I NEVER do that. It needs a sequel.
