    3. Battle Shark (Taito) - try it on MAME, it's awesome
    4. Burning Force (Namco)
    5. Outrun

I defineatly agree on the choice of Space Harrier, but I'd have to put it at #4 on my list.

    1. Galactic Attack (Sega Saturn): Scaling land falling below your ship as you destroyed it. Huge scaling bosses were a marvel to see.

    2. Nights

    3. Pilot Wings

    4. Space Harrier

    5. Tempest 2000

  3. #13
    I love sprite-scalers.

    1. Thunderblade
    2. Space Harrier
    3. G.I. Joe
    4. Galaxy Force 2
    5. F-Zero

And one I absolutely loved in the arcades but I left out since I don't remember it well is Tatsumi's Apache 3.

  4. space harrier, hang-on, power drift... that's all
currently playing: gun valkyrie, ocarina of time

  5. 1) RayForce- Enemies come up from the lower level to get you, and it is so cool how you can send the 4th boss plummeting to its doom. In some scenes, you even dive toward the background.

    2) Power Drift- Probably the best graphics in a Sega sprite scaler game. The game play has a true 3D feel to it as you go up and down steep hills. Those with weaker stomachs may want to take some Dramamine for this one.

    3) Super Chase- Best game of the Chase HQ series.

    4) Assault- The mother of all Mode 7 games.

    5) Lock-On (Tatsumi/Data East)- Features a flight controller exactly like the one on Atari's Star Wars series.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

  6. 1. Afterburner II
    2. Outrun
    3. Space Harrier
    4. G-Loc
    5. Thunderblade

  7. I'm no expert on scaling graphics, but if Batman on Sega CD used sprite scaling, then it would get a vote from me. I remember being floored during the driving components.

  8. Galaxy Force 2 for me. I loved that game.

  9. Whatever the rest are, Outrun is #1. I miss Sega's "chunky" games.

  10. F-Zero
