Thread: The Pokemon thread

  1. The Pokemon thread

I've never owned any of the Pokemon games but I have played them enough to find them addicting. I've always wanted to see a console version true to the GameBoy versions. Add in some online play and damn that would be one hell of a game. Yes, Pokemon has a childish reputation but you can't deny how much enjoyment you can get out of the games.

Anyways, I'll be the first to admit that I can't wait for the GBA versions.

  2. Yes they were fun at times, but once i beat red i found the rest to be pretty boring.

  3. I played the hell out of Red, but completely lost intrest after that.

Pokémon stands as yet another easy to ignore Nintendo franchise (for me personally), since for some reason damn near everyone else I know feels compelled to play some Pokémon-related thing with each release. I'm not sure what's so magical about a series regarding 250+ baby-talking monsters and the idiots that are their "masters", but whatever. I'll be the first to admit that I have not nor will ever exchange a penny of my money for Pokémon merchandise.

The only thing I truly hate about Pokémon is that I didn't think of it first.

  5. Grestest serries.. ever.. I cant wait for Ruby/Sapphire.... i cant wait.. addicting.. what other games let you have 100+ hrs of gameplay.. especially on handels.. i wen through countless battries...

Hopeing for Pokemon online.. similar to GBA games... then battle around the world for real...

My plan is to buy all the Pokemon stuff I have been ignoring when the fad is completely dead and the games are insanely cheap. The games look interesting but they aren't high on my priority list.

Currently the only Pokemon games I own are Pokemon Red and Pokemon Pinball.

  7. With the decline of Mario, Pokemon is easily my favourite Nintendo franchise. Very cool universe and nice design. Forget FFXI, I would dearly love a Pokemon MMORPG complete with exploration, Pokemon tournaments and PSO style quests. How cool would it be to sign up for a tournament and do battle in the stadium whilst other players watch from the stands... love the music too in the franchise. The anime lays down a decent foundation from which to create such a game.

  8. I love pokemon. The games are not hard enough, this is true, but the strategy when you are actually battling people that KNOW what they are doing can get pretty deep.

I cannot wait for the next games. There are always that first 6 months that people are figuring out all the new stuff that you can combo w/ and it is lots of fun.

  9. I loved red and blue. gold/silver I just couldn't get into. I'm eagerly awaiting ruby/sapphire though.

Once you get passed all the gay kids merchandise and the crappy tv show its not half a bad game

  10. Pokemon rocks.

    Squirtle woooo!
