Does anyone remember the name of that Defender sequel

I'm trying to remember what this arcade game was called, but my mind is drawing a blank.

I think it came out around 1989, it was made by Atari Games, and it played and looked very much like an "updated" version of the classic Defender.

Anyone know what game I'm talking about?

Star Gate: Defender II

Excellent game, the advent of the warp gates was an excellent tough, expecially the added bonus of taking four humans with you, causing you to warp five waves.

No, not Stargate. The game I'm thinking about came out much later, around 1989 or so. It had graphics similar to Blasteroids, NARC, etc...I think..

Defender 2000 for Jaguar? Thats the only other Defender sequel I can think of.

Well, there's Blaster, but I think that was a Robotron off shoot, but it's been a while since I've played it.

Oh never mind, I found it. It's called Strike Force. It's actually made by Midway, not Atari...

There's also the Jeff Minter update to Defender called Defender 2000 or something.

How familiar with Minter are you, Regus? There's someone you should check out.

I still haven't played Strike Force. I have never once seen it in the arcades. Hopefully, it will appear in some compilation. I doubt it will happen but I didn't expect Blaster and Black Widow to reappear and they did.
