Okay, I admit it. I hate it because I kept falling off that first tree.I watched my friend play through it in roughly 30 minutes, so your excuse is void!
I never even owned the cart, just played it and beat it at a friend's house. It's just the right length for an NES game.

I remember beating the game the same day that I bought it in a 12-hour gaming marathon. It was so much fun, though. Infinte continues ruled, so did the small amount by which your attack power increased with every hit. And you kept your "tone" attack points after you died too.
I just kept playing the last boss over and over again... Eventually my attack power got strong enough that I was able to kill him. I was so hyped that I won the game in one day, I actually called my friends to brag.
Later on, I was a bit pissed that my allowance had been blown on a game I beat right after buying it though. :lol
NES Rygar was awesome. It was definitely surpassed by later NES stuff like Ninja Gaiden but it's still a great game. I enjoyed it more than the arcade version.
what was the japanese game called? i just went to zophar.net to find the nsf of the famicom version, but i didn't see it.Originally posted by opa-opa
I know the NES version had awful music, but luckily I played the Famicom version which had a completely different (and awesome) soundtrack.
I loeved it. I had no idea that the arcade game existed at the time, so I just took it as a really cool game. I hated the fact that it had no battery or passwords, so an uncoordinated gamer like myself back then had to spend the better part of the day to beat it.
