I though I recognised that game. Waas'nt the goal to build the pipeline, as the water ran and if you did'nt build it fast enough the water would spill? You also had to grab the right pipe peice from the top of the screen, if I remember correctly.

I don't remember if you have to build the pipeline but you have to prevent bugs from screwing with the pipes. I liked how you could shoot the ones coming up the ladder. Man, I really need to buy another disk drive so I can play it again.

Good idea, but unfortunately, nothing can fix the nasty battle slowdown and the scratchy, ported sound effects. Merely using the X-Slash combo slows the on-screen action to a crawl. Ick. I'd hate to see what some of the high-end techs and combos look like.

The anime cinemas seem to be missing lots of frames, too. At first I just thought my PS1 was skipping due to its age, but everyone else who had the game said the same thing. It's a minor gripe, though, especially since I've been spoiled by the excellent anime in Xenogears and the Lunar games.

Also, as far as I know, the translation and gameplay itself hasn't changed at all. Aside from the anime scenes (crap quality but still neat), the only redeeming value to the PS1 port of CT are all those extra thingies you can unlock by getting the various endings, and the fact that your memory card saves will last a hell of a lot longer than the original cart's battery. To me, that's not enough to justify playing a bad port of a normally excellent RPG.

  5. I really need to swing by the Goodwill store again, last time I was there I scored a brand-new set of X-Box S-Video cables for $2 and an almost-brand new X-Box controller for $9.
    omg TNL epics!
