I knew GameFAQs would reveal the reason. Apparently it was released in 1993. That says it all.
Why did it never get as much attention as the original? Hell, for years I never knew it existed and I was a HUGE fan of the original (still to this day one of my favorite games, I still remember the day I got it just as if it was yesterday). I believe the same goes for Chip N Dales Rescue Rangers. The sequel was really never that well known compared to the original was a fun game.

Yeah, late NES games outside of Kirby are often forgotten. Which reminds me, Bubble Bobble 2 on NES was quite good. I think it was reviewed in the same EGM issue as Duck Tales 2.
Duck Tales 2 was okay from what I remember. I was never a huge fan of the original so the sequel didn't really do it for me either.
Yes. Yes it did.Originally posted by Korly

Yeah, I just loved how Capcom just cranked out one good one after another, year after year after year.
Ducktales and Chip 'n Dales Rescue Rangers remain my faves, though![]()
omg TNL epics!
DT2 really should have been put on SNES. It was 19 frickin' 93!
Yeah, Capcom waited too long to put out the sequels to these games. They could've pulled the same thing they did with the Mega Man games. It's not like Ducktales 2 or Rescue Rangers 2 had a dramatic change in gameplay or anything.
