Thread: Do you plan on having children?

  1. NO WAY IN HELL!!!!

If you can't tell by most of the nonsense I post on these boards, I am a seriously, psychologically fucked-up individual.

I used to be a virgin because I was too much of a loser for women to even give me the time of day. Now I remain a virgin by choice. No way I'm passing my psychosis down to yet another generation. It's bad enough I have to live with me on this planet full of lunatics.

On a more practical note, lack of financial means, lack of intelligence, and a lack of the ability to feel any kind emotion are several other compelling reasons why Me+Parenthood = Disaster. Last thing this world needs is another abusive parent.

  2. Yes, I'd love to have kids someday, but not till I'm (at the very earliest) in my late 20's, but more ideally in my early 30's, old enough that I'll be matured and settled down, but not so old that I won't be able to handle them when they reach adolescence. About roughly 10 or so years from now, in that 2011-2015 timeframe sounds about right.

I love kids and am really good with them, I'm a big brother of sorts to just about all of my younger cousins in some form or fashion, quite a few of them really look up to me. Part of the reason I'm even currently considering becoming an elementary school teacher, heh...

As for the breakdown, 3 would be ideal, I'd like two boys and one girl, with the girl being the youngest so her older brothers will take care of her. And if they don't, I'll bodyslam them. Now THAT will be some parentin'!

That, my friend, will be ENTIRELY up to you.

  4. As an ammendment to my earlier post I'd like to add that in addition to "making" a child of my own I'd also like to adopt one someday. So many children out there need homes it seems like a good thing to do. But I'd also like to have my own because, well, it's a cool thing.

  5. I'm 17, so i'm not after any just yet, though one day for sure.

  6. Hell's no.

No way. I don't think I'm something that should be introduced to the gene pool.

  8. Wow, alot of the responses here are the same as when I put this up at gaming force. One response that I agree with from there, is that I wish more people would actually sit down and wait til they have the financial means to support a child before doing so. I see too many people with 4 or 5 kids, who quite honestly, really shouldn't have.

Eh I never really think about it, the least of my priorities.

I think kids are ok, I dunno am I the only one here who hasn't changed a diaper? Never had the opportunity.

  10. The point is moot in my case -- I have two daughters.

Still, let me offer the following, personal observation (and realize this is coming from someone who is immature in certain ways, and was even more so when younger): having and raising my children will probably wind up being the greatest, most fulfilling thing I ever did in my life. Yep, it was surprise to me, too.
