I think it's time for me to finish my first run-through this weekend, although finishing and reviewing Shinobi may get in the way...
You guys are fanatics. I'm creeping my way along - 7 hours in I'm 26% done - and enjoying every second. Every time I get an upgrade I go through practically the entire map, screwing around. Heh - my first time through may take forty hours. But I couldn't care less...I'm taking it slow the first time through, drinking in all the detail - I already know I'll be playing it again (many times). I'll go for 100% later.

Question, how "worth it" is finishing the game with 100%. I'm considering moving on to the next game in my pile of shame and play Prime again at a later time.
Also, considering I'm right at the end of the game, it's possible to go back and find the secrets without having the start the game over right? I made sure to scan every enemy and boss before I began fighting.
Guess what? You're having fun playing the game. Good to hear.Originally posted by BioMechanic

I have a dilemma, I am just so sick of FPS games. DOes this game make you "feel" like you are playing an FPS or somehing different?
Melf, as soon as you begin, check the destructable containers along the edge of the field. There's about two-three tank refills right there. And once you get used to fighting her you'll only take a couple hits anyway, she can be beaten with only a tank left if you're good. Probably can do better than that, but I haven't.

You'll get to see something really cool, something that could effect any future Metroid games. I've allready read what it is, and even though I love the game I don't feel its worth having to scan everything to see it (scanning was the most boring part of the game, I don't want to do it all over again). If you want to know what is shown go look at a faq or the Metroid story thread where I post what it is in the third page.

100% of pick-ups will get you the best ending, plus it will unlock Gallery 4. 100% of scans will unlock Gallery 2. Scans (or bosses, or map coverage) do not affect the pick-up percentage - only pick-ups count.Originally posted by Shinobi128

I would beat the game now, then go for 100% on your next run through hard mode.
You won't get locked into a "point of no return" like Super Metroid, and you can always go back and retrieve pick-ups. Some scans, however, can't be obtained by the end of the game - bosses, a few regular enemies, the Data on the Frigate and a few research entries.
Unload missile combos like no tomorrow into the first form - you won't need them later. Don't take hits early on, and just concentrate on learning the patterns. It's a real bitch of a fight, but fortunately the second form is a lot easier. Make sure you pick up all the energy released after the second form's opening attack.Originally posted by Melf
Man, I suck.
**SPOILERS**
I still can't beat Prime, even with 14 tanks and 190 missiles. I get to her final form with about 2 tanks left and she kicks my ass!
Does anyone have any suggestions as how to get to her final form with some decent energy? Damn spider-thingie!
I'm about to tackle Prime - in Hard Mode. I'm not looking forward to this.
It feels a lot more like Zelda with a gun and a first-person perspective.Originally posted by Damian79

Ironically enough - I've seen the sketches for this in Gallery 4, and I have yet to see the 100% ending. To my surprise, I got 100% of pickups right after Omega PirateOriginally posted by Green
