Thread: Jet Li's Hero and John Woo, The Touch News

  1. Jet Li's Hero and John Woo, The Touch News

    Well, Here we go

Hero: Miramax has delayed the Jet Li flick to November 2003, guess its time to start importing the Region 3 DVD version when it hits Asia early next year.

Men of Destiny: IGN FilmForce reports that now John Woo has turned his attention to helming the sci-fi thriller "Paycheck", his "Men of Destiny" project is on hold. Production was originally scheduled to begin in September in Colorado with both Chow Yun-Fat and Nicolas Cage attached. Now it looks like the film has been shelved "because of either budgetary or script rewrite issues".

The Touch: Screen Daily indicates the Michelle Yeoh flick hasn't been delivered to Miramax who want reworking of the visual FX in the finale. The film is unlikely to get a US release before mid-2003 even though the DVD version is already out and on sale in Asia

Since, Hero will be playing in HK this Chinese New Year, expect the dvd to come out sometimes next Spring. Hopefully they wont go CTHD route and release Cantonese/Mandarin version only

    Thanx for the info.

When does that Jet-Li inspired video game come out?

  3. Havent heard any new info on that, since the announcement was made few months ago.

The CGI/effects looked terrible (laughable, even) in the trailer. Hopefully Miramax utilizes the film's postponement and does something a little more sophisticated with the scenes in question.

I'll give The Touch a chance, but I doubt this was worth Michelle Yeoh having turned down a role in The Matrix sequels (would have been awesome).

    Gon
...because without the bitter, baby, the sweet ain't as sweet.
