Thread: I rented klonoa 2 from Blockbuster...

  1. I felt the same Regus. Fun game though, just felt something was missing.

  2. Yeah, Klonoa 2's ending was pretty 'feh', and a particularly bad ending coming off of the first game's, which was one of the best ever.

    I found my copy at CostCo for $19.99, about a month ago. Check their website, you may be able to find one there.

    The GBA Klonoa is great, but be prepared to think... there's about a 400% greater abundance of puzzle elements than the the console versions.

    *Sigh* I really wish I could find the first Klonoa. Definitely the most gaping hole in my PS1 library.

  3. I love the Klonoa games. In fact I bought Klonoa 2 before I even got a PS2. I heartily recommend that everyone get all the Klonoa games that they can. The second GBA game is especially good... although much harder then earlier games.

    Want some more bad news? If you feel that you have to buy this one, then you HAVE to get the first one too, it is even better than this one.

  5. I'm also puzzled as to why this series never hit it big with the mainstream. Door to Phantomile is pure magic, and while Lunatea does a worthy job, it's obvious most of the inspiration went into the first game.

  7. I love Klonoa too. I love the wa-hoo a lot myself. I need to track down that PS2 game myself. My local Blockbuster has it too though.

    Just yesterday I was playing the first GBA game. You should definitely pick that one up as well. It's fantastic. It's one of those games that just makes you feel good all over when you play it. It has wonderful graphics, music, sound effects, and the best thing of all, the gameplay and puzzles are great. It's one of my favourite games.

    I can't wait for the second GBA game and the GBA RPG.

  8. I haven't been able to find the original, but I have two demo discs with it on there, so it's better than nothing.

  9. I recently picked up Klonoa 2, and I'm loving it as well. I agree with Chibi - everything about it just feels right, and it's a perfect mix of all its parts. I haven't been able to get into the first GBA one nearly as much, but I've enjoyed what I've played of the second one. The upcoming Klonoa Heroes kind of reminds me of Legend of Valkyrie...maybe it's a spiritual sequel with Klonoa characters?

    I hope we see more Klonoa games come out here. I haven't heard any word of Klonoa G2 or Klonoa Heroes coming out here...I'm hoping the series doesn't go the way of Mr. Driller in the US. If it does, oh well...both series are rather import-friendly.

    Oh, and I love playing with L1 and L2 during Klonoa 2.
