Okay - all 4 of the discs don't play on my DVD-Rom drive (as if it doesn't even recognize the disc) - yet they play on my standard Sony DVD player thats hooked up to the tv...Anyone else got this problem. I mean, its not really a big deal - although it comes as an irritation because it would have been nice to watch them on my comp.
I might return them this Friday - which will be no problem because I bought it where I work. I'd just exchange it for another copy.
That sucks... I hope the one I ordered doesn't turn out like that since I don't have a stand-alone player with me. I'll let you know when I get mine...
Hmm, mine acts funny sometimes during the chapter skips. After skipping to the next chapter, the movie will play steppy, almost like a game with a bad framerate. I have to stop the movie, then resume in order for it to play at the proper speed.
It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to cause concern. Also, I've never had this problem with any other DVDs.
yup - dude - I just exchanged my old copy at work for a new copy and tried it out - same fucking problem. The DVD is not even recognized - I even tried a completely different DVD to see if it was not my dvdrom drive having a problem - nope - worked perfectly. Gayness in a halfshell.
Oh well. It plays on my normal DVD player so I guess I'll just have to deal...but what a lame dissapointment.
I got mine last week, it ran on my laptop a-okay (at least the first disc did ).
Did you guys listen to the Director/Producer's commentary? If you haven't read the 2nd/3rd book and you don't want some things spoilers, don't listen to it. They are minor spoilers, but I don't know why they give away information like that... I guess they counted on the fact that those who buy this set already read all three books...
So anyone else encounter this problem as I did? I hope its not a problem for the two towers DVD and I especially hope that regarding said two towers dvd - they don't release that stupid regular version first...i mean - for fucks sake just release the 4 disc version in the first place and have done with it!
