favorite shmup intro

Damn...I forgot about G Darius. It did indeed have a very slick intro. The fast-paced, expertly edited and well-balanced mix of CG and hand-drawn animation it offers works very well indeed.

Giga Wing 2.

The steampunk ship design combined with the orchestral/vocal soundtrack....then with the phantom wing unfurling at the end...lovely.

I guess my favorite pick would be MUSHA, too. Hard to believe that's only a 4meg game.

Anyway, back in the day I was pretty impressed with the Sol Feace intro. I always thought it was cool to see the pilots power up their craft and what-not, then launch into an attack. I doubt it'd be all that striking nowadays, though.
