Metroid Prime Story Questions

here are my thoughts

Prime perhaps was some other creature, a metroid like creature if you will

something happened say to the planet it was on or maybe it can survive in space inside meteorites and when this one crashed into tallon IV it was released

perhaps it was a creature that lived off the phazon, but when it crashed into tallon IV the phazon had adverse effects on the creatures of that planet that it didnt on prime, eventually some how metroids on Tallon IV and Prime came into contact and because of the strong mutating properties of Phazon cause Prime and a Metroid to become one creature

perhaps it wasnt a metroid as we know it today

maybe it combined with a more primitive metroid (almost say like comparing a saber tooth tiger to a tiger of today)

and when that primitive metroid came into contact with prime it created the newer metroids were more accustomed to or something very close to it

and it was this that the Chozo based the metroids they created on

perhaps all the Chozo did was take the creature that was created by prime this newer metroid and sped up its evolutionary process creating the metroids were used to

and perhaps in the long time that prime was down there he began to evolve too

im thinking the metroids were allready a creature in existance that the chozo advanced or altered to make them what they were

perhaps they were something they found and advanced on tallon IV and realised they could use to their advantage on SR-388 and brought the metroids they advanced there to destroy the X

and as seen in metroid II the metroids advanced again

maybe the metroids are a fast evolving species

(sorry if some one posted things similar to this allready ive been sitting here thinking it through for awhile now and leaving it and coming back to it so some of it may have been posted while i wrote my reply)

I'm not sure if I buy the Chozo getting Metroids from that critter, they make it pretty clear that they viewed the impact of the meteor as a very bad thing, and went out of their way to seal it up as quickly as possible, and it subsequently wiped them out.

The Metroid Prime as Not-a-Metroid is a decent theory, since it is so physically different from all currently known Metroid mutations.

Most indications seem to point to Tallon IV being developed well after they'd been active elsewhere in the galaxy, and likely, with Metroids, so I really don't think they developed Metroids from Prime, and I'm still not even convinced there were any Metroids on the planet before the Pirates brought them. This all makes decent sense if you accept Metroid Prime as a non-metroid being that crashed into the planet, but it STILL doesn't cover the breach of the sealed crater.

well ok 2 things

1. even if they got metroids form the guy its still a bad thing the impact cause it destroyed the planet so while one good thing may have come from it it still destroyed the planet

2. look at its name Metroid Prime

Prime means comeing before or to do before like when you prime say a snow blower before itll start (you push the primer to pump some fuel into the engine)

I really think metroid prime is the basis for what the metroids would become

and as seen in past Metroids these things have a very fast evolutionairy or mutating process

I have no idea what your first point was trying to convey, but as for the second, the Pirates named it Metroid Prime. There were already plenty of other Metroids around before it. What's an even worse logic gap is that the pirates indicate they experimented on it with Phazon, but the creature data indicates it is the source of Phazon. I dunno. I'm thinking they just slipped up with some areas of the story :P

yeah it could just be a slip in some spots too

but hey you have to admit it has a strong continuity then most games, movies or comics right now *LOL*


I havent beaten Metroid Prime yet (but i read this anyway because the metroid prime guya nd some of his story line was allready spoiled to me by a moronic friend who just wouldnt shut up)

so maybe theres some stuff im missing that would enlighten me better

im still intrigued by what ive read about the chozo calling samus the hatchling and knowing about her way in advance

dont say anything but i do hope the story gives some clues as to how the chozo and samus came together and how she got a power suit built by them

maybe ive missed the story details in other games in the series so if i did you can say it then but if its in prime dont say anything *LOL*

Metroid Prime mutated while being imprisoned by the pirates, so maybe it was more "metroid-like" before the mutations.

After all the regular credit stuff, it cuts to an undulating blob of phazon. A black and red hand bursts forth. An alien eye looks around from the back of the hand....

It's kinda cute how Retro's story 'fits' the Metroid world almost better than Nintendo's own plot in Fusion.
