Just a remix? Eh? Don't you mean sequel?
Don't get too excited, it's just a remix of DDP. I will buy it but would rather ESPrade had got ported.

From what I got up to (level 3 boss) it really is just a remixed DDP with ESPrade style art and a different colour palette. Not a bad thing by any means but it's hardly an all new game.
From the videos I have seen, I would say that is only partially true. The stages & bosses seem to be same with little diffrences & a nice graphical update, but the patterns & difficulty have taken a HUGE leap forward. The second level looks like the fourth of fifth level of ddp in terms of difficulty & sheer ammount of stuff thrown at you.
Really, the graphical style & bosses can stay the same if the gameplay takes as big a leap forward as it seems to have.

The graphical style is obviously quite similar and there are some thematic parallels throughout the stages -- not to mention a number of not-so-subtle nods to the original DDP. Remix, though? I'd say closer to a tribute.
I'm going to suck at this one too, I can feel it.

i'm looking forward to it.
by the way, what's a good price for an import ps2 these days?
I can feel my need for an Import PS2 go up about another 10 or 20 notches every time I think about this game. Damn, I'm trying to save money here...

April 10 for DDPDOJ!! Woohoo!
*does the happy dance*
Every sequel to a shooter can be viewed as a kind of remix... If it doesn't share similar elements, it wouldn't be right to call it so-and-so 2 or whatever. That's what new franchises are for.
