Not true. I am no shooter expert by any means but even I was able to get to Daioujou level 3 without problems whilst completing DDP level 4 is beyond me.Originally posted by JM
From the videos I have seen, I would say that is only partially true. The stages & bosses seem to be same with little diffrences & a nice graphical update, but the patterns & difficulty have taken a HUGE leap forward. The second level looks like the fourth of fifth level of ddp in terms of difficulty & sheer ammount of stuff thrown at you.
Gameplay mechanics sure, level design wise no. DP, DDP and DDP2 are completely different in this respect whilst Daioujou shares many sections from DDP.Every sequel to a shooter can be viewed as a kind of remix...
Tribute is indeed the better word to use though. I loved what little I was able to play of it and will certainly be supporting this release. I recently bought Donpachi and Dondonpachi on PSone also and I love both. Cave's games hold my attention a lot better than Psikyo's efforts it seems.


But at least there's the original DDP for now.
