dumb comments you've heard lately

When I picked up Vice City a few weeks ago, the guy at EB said "do you want to get the book with it? if you get it now you get X% discount" so I, of course, said no because I never get books. If I DO need help, i just look up GameFAQS or something. His reply, "are you sure? the codes aren't going to be posted on the internet this time" I thought to myself how that could even be possible to conceive as being true... so I just flat out said to his face "oh, that's funny... I just read them last night" The look on his face was priceless, and he then proceeded to look around the store to see if anyone heard me.

A few weeks before Vice City was out a Software, Etc. employee tried to convince me to pre-order the game. He said that only their store was guaranteed to have copies, and that the game would be sold out for weeks everywhere else.

Then last year when I bought my Xbox on launch day, the Best Buy employee was trying to get me to buy an extra controller and DVD kit by claiming that they would be sold out past Christmas.

I don't even try arguing with those people anymore, it's just not worth it.

That reminds me of a Best Buy employee telling a woman that the Xbox could play DC games the other day.

I heard an EB employee tell a customer the Xbox was capable of playing every disc based game for every system, because it was the most powerful system ever.

I went shopping with the fam Sat. and dropped by the local EB. Some Dad asked the clerk wich system was the best. To my surprise the clerk actually said something intelligent. He said that the Xbox had the most power graphics wise and the PS2 had the biggest selection. He should have just stopped while he was ahead. He then proceeded to tell the poor sap that he shouldn't buy a Gamecube because Nintendo was going to get out of the hardware business within a year and that the next Mario would be on Xbox. God, people are idiots.
