I regretted never trying to apply until I read:

The thing that totally stunned me was that these guys have to go to school for 6 - 7 days a week for up to 14 hours a day. That's INSANE! I can't imagine doing that at all. Thank god I want to get into the marketing side of the game industry![]()
If my memory of her has an expiration date, let it be 10,000 years.
Yeah, the people that are there are really in it for the love of making games and nothing else. I considered going, but they have no campus, no activites, no non-gaming/programming/art classes.
I decided on cenventional college, and I'm glad I did.
I may still go to Digipen adter school though...
I was actually accepted to Digipen, but I opted to go to a regular University for the reasons Master and Burgundy listed.
"Roughly 200 spots open up each year at DigiPen, and the school — commonly known as Donkey Kong U — gets 24,000 requests for applications from prospective students. But because DigiPen goes to great lengths to dissuade all but the most serious applicants, only 500 people ultimately compete for the 200 available slots."
Now it just sounds like I'm bragging

And kabuki... I dont wanna undermine you or anything, but 500 competing for 200 slots is still a 40% acceptance rate... thats low, but not that low. Click here to see a list of a few dozen schools that have lower ones, and there are still dozens more between 30% and 39%.
GOOD LUCK!!!Originally posted by Reno

you'll need it...
don't forget to get your masters
I'd also dig a marketing gig in gaming. But my complete lack of college makes that dream a lofty one.

i have a degree in marketing, and let me tell you how difficult it is to get a position that actually involves "marketing", more or less in the gaming industry...Originally posted by Jeremy
