Was the Lenoleum originally white or black? Either way, its very out of the norm, I like it![]()
note that it is a block print, meaning i carved it out of a linoleum block... and i know the face isn't right... but i think the jacket, shirt, and hair are all very good

the linoleom was Gray... but that doesn't matter... because you use the block like a stamp
i had to carve out any parts that i wanted to be white... so i had to think in reverse to get it right
then you use a paint roller kinda thing and roll ink onto the block... then you take the block and press it against paper
i hate printmaking. but i appreciate the effort put into it. i'd say that kyo print took maybe about a week (two at most) to finish carving. carving out the linoleum doesn't take too long but there are a lot of thin lines there that that seemed to have been a major bitch to do. nice work though.
i'd also like to give a big 'bleh' to woodprints. takes entirely too long to carve. big ups to etching though.
the carving probably took a little over a week... only working on it in my art portfolio class
so that's like 6 class periods of 45 minutes... the face was a bitch to do right
I remember printmaking in school. It IS a total pain in the ass. Hardcore. Some of the better students i nclass though can do some amazing stuff with it. I remember taking a picture of a bat I drew and trying to redo it as a print. took about a month and ended up looking like crap.
The only differance between suicide and martyrdom is press coverage.

i had to take printmaking twice. hated it both times, and barely passed that 2nd time around. first time i just said 'fuck it' and showed up late all the time. i might actually have some wood tools in unused condition still. a good compliment to all the other supplies i bought, but never used, in my h.s. years.
it's a bitch going to an art h.s.
