I didn't buy a single game this holiday season..

Funny how things turned out. Both of my must-buys for 2002 (DOAXBV and Panzer Orta) were delayed until 2003. There really wasn't any must-buys for me on the PS2 (I'm not a big GTA fan), and the GC has a pretty weak Xmas lineup (not a big Metroid Prime fan either). Well there is PSO for GC, but I would rather wait for the XBox version so I can play XBox live. I was thinking of buying either Rygar, Shinobi, or Contra:SS, but so far none of those seem to live up to my expectations for them, from the reviews I've read.

So here I am....right smack in the middle of the typical game buying season...and have bought ZERO games..and don't really plan to buy anything until next year.

Has anyone else bought nothing, or much less than you expected?

Stop beliving reviews Try the games for yourself. Rent them if you are not sure.

I haven't seen anything worth buying come out since the end of Oct, so I'm with you. I haven't bought anything new in months, only some relatively old stuff.

Well, I did try Shinobi and Contra:SS and wasn't impressed...haven't tried Rygar yet, but from what the reviews say, I doubt it will be worth paying $50 for.

The last game I bought was Vice City. I would buy Shenmue II if I hadn't already bought it for DC, but other than that I'm not too stoked about any game this holiday season. Shinobi and Rygar sound fun, and there are a few other that seem fairly interesting, but I'll probably spend my holiday game money on cheap as dirt DC games that I never got around to buying when they were released.

There must be some games out there you want that you haven't bought yet.

I will be buying Shinobi, Defender, and Rygar eventually. First I've got a couple imports preordered- Darius R for GBA and Space Raiders later on in the month. Contra SS I've already gotten.

Imports come first for me, since they can be harder to get if you wait.

My buying season is pretty much done, I've bought all the games that I really wanted and now's my time to play through all the games that I've bought...

Rent Rygar if you're mildly interested. I don't own Star Fox Adventures, Shinobi, Rygar, or MK Deadly Alliance but I really want to try them out first, then I'll probably wait until a price drop before getting them.
