Thread: New Inking Technique!

  1. New Inking Technique!

Do you hate to ink your work?

Do you hate how crappy your inking skill is?!

Do you feel frustrated when you make a mistake while inking and have do it all over??!!

    Do you like your moustache??!!??!!

Then come one and all! Use this new inking technique and you'll never have to ink your sketckes with a pen ever again!! Hand me $49.99 or an S-Xbox controller and I'll show you how it's done.

Hm? What's that? Christmas is coming? Show you for free?? Ah, doodles !! Oh, well...

    (cheap bastards...)

    Here it is:

The pentool! Choose the curvy one and then click first box thingy in its properties bar. This automatically fills your 'strokes' so remember to use black! Adjust the 'curve fit' to your liking. Remember to use a different layer. Use another layer if it gets too 'crowded'(you'll see). Experiment further yourself.

    The result:

I'll post this pic later. Notice how clean it is? How smooth and precise. Way better than using the traditional method if I do say so myself . Of course you have to use your common sense in 'curving', linking up or dividing up your 'inking strokes' but you'll get the hang of it.

The only draw back is that it takes more time than conventional inking. But mistakes can be easily erased and it's more fun (doesn't matter if your hand shakes). Oh, and you don't have to use a tablet!

Nice, eh? I 'discovered' this technique when I saw an art magazine show a guy adjusting his outlines with the pentool(or so I guess. The magazine was in Japanese). I tried it and found that I could 'ink' a whole pic! Adjusting my previously inked works seem redundant (overall quality a mix bag) so I decided to 'ink' one of my sketches.

    I've attached another sample.

Hope this helps. I'm quite happy with this technique. I'll never ink my sketches with a pen again!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!

  5. Took me a few tries to figure it out, but I'm starting to like it. A shame it's so far more tedious then whipping out some pens and going at it, but still cool.

    Thanks!

[edit] Here's what I got going on after a couple hours of work... Not that great, but hey. Image Linky Linky!

  6. Dang, and here I am stuck with Photoshop 5.0. Oh well, I'll have to remember this when I finally get around to upgrading.
