Thread: How to Cut Back

  1. Budget? What's that?

Honestly though, trading games in is a great idea IF you know you can get it for cheaper in the future. For example I bought and played through Devil May Cry when it came out then I traded it in and got 25 in credit. Recently I rebought it for 7. That's the way to go.

  2. That's weird, bbobb. You paid $50 originally, then another $7, minus the $25 credit = $32 for the same game twice.

    Ummm...*backs away*

I should've mentioned that you need to spend the rent money to buy games as well. Yay.

But you see I paid a total of $32 for the game and I was able to play it immediately when it came out.

    02. You got that big fucking "pile of shame"? Play those games.
    03. Stop trying to be like the people on this board that buy four games a week, or like ECM. They are nutcases, and not indicative of the normal population.
    04. Pirate, pirate, pirate! Its hard to fathom just how much money you save. I know its illegal but its oh-so-good.
    05. Emulation. Play some of those old games you never beat. Im gonna get into Super Mario RPG one day instead of buying another six games (or spending like $50 to get a "real" copy).
    06. Take up another hobby.
    07. Realize that most games, past and present, are big pieces of shit. Steel Battalion? Piece of shit. Animal Crossing? Piece of shit. Metroid Prime? Piece of shit. You guys may say theyre good but Im not gonna buy them cause I think theyre pieces of shit. Its all in your mind dude.
That was pretty funny, except for the "Metroid Prime is shit" part, which is a view only espoused by froth-mouthed lunatics (honestly, opa-opa and EThugg are the only ones who have said that). Seriously though, I refuse to believe that a single member of these boards "needs" more videogames. I guarantee you have tons you haven't finished, done everything in, played at all, or could stand to go through a second time.

  6. If you're a notoriously cheap bastard like me, its easy. I don't feel the need to play all the new releases as soon as they come out; I get to them when i can get to them. It might mean I play it the same day of release(Resident Evil Remake), or it might mean I still haven't played it yet (soul reaver 2). By the time I actually start looking to buy the games I want, the price has gone way down. Example: I wanted to play Project Eden when it came out, but didn't have the money. I bought it a few months ago for $5. Procrastination pays off.
