Thread: Unlimited Saga

  1. I so badly wanted to like Saga Frontier 2- the beautiful watercolor 2D graphics gave that game a look like no other. Seriously, that game was a work of art, graphically. Sadly, I thought the gameplay and the story so boring that I couldn't take it, even though I really tried to get into it. Hopefully Unlimited Saga will turn out better, but I doubt it.

I didn't enjoy SF2 (I said I liked SF better). I started it a few times, but kept getting lost and bored within the first ten minutes and just couldn't get very far. Maybe one day I'll go back with a FAQ in hand.

Which reminds me that someone stole my copy of SF... BASTARDS! *sigh* I still remember my 17,000+ HP damage five-person-combo...

  3. Oh hmm, apparently I can't read. You're not the only one. I need to pick up a used copy of it sometime, try it again with a faq, see if its more fun that way. I know it sure as hell wasn't fun the first time :P

  4. Strange, It seems you all liked Saga 1 more than 2, I'm quite the opposite. I found that Saga one only had 2 or 3 stories I enjoyed playing through. The rest, like Lute's, were terreble. And the battle system was ass, altohugh the 2nd had mostly the same battle system the story and the artwork made it a far more pleasing gaming experience.

As for the battle system I was hoping they would they to make the Combo System closer to Chrono Trigger's, where if you get the right combination of attacks you hit the combo every time, instead of randomly. That and it creates a whole different animation as oppossed to just animating all of the attack's seperately.

I've been anxiously awaiting this game for awhile, so much so that I've been playing Romancing Saga 3 to tide me over. They got the first 3 right, I hope they get this one right too.

  5. The battle system in SF was just fine, you probably just didn't learn how to abuse it right.

Parts of combos were random. By and large, if you did it right it'll work 99% of the time.

  6. Sounds like you guys should play videogames instead of RPGs.

  7. I'm interested in finding out about the characters, one of them kind of looks like a wolf character...

I'll have this day one though, what else did you expect from a big Square fan like me

It definately looks interesting, can't say Squaresoft isn't at least trying to do new things.
