Thread: Finding the Right Christmas Presents

  1. Finding the Right Christmas Presents

So, I'm trying to figure out the right presents to get some people, and I thought I'd appeal to TNL for suggestions:

1.) What's the best multiplayer game on the Gamecube? (He has Super Monkey Ball)

2.) Do you know of a fantasy author that would appeal to someone who liked Robert Jordan - it should be a writer with a book out in hardcover right now.

Everyone else, if you need help with present recommendations, post a question here.

  2. Mario Party 4, hands-down. I've logged many hours into that game. Smash Brothers is good, too, but it isn't as fun to play with friends in my opinion. Someone can be too good and ruin it for everyone.

And also, be warned; it's basically multiplayer-only. Single player is a no-no.

If the person needs something to play as single player, look into Timesplitters 2 or Smash Bros.

Lemme consult my friend at work here on authors, but personally, I say that the best fantasy author is Tolkein. If your person does not have Lord of the Rings, buy it for them.
bastard of the new world order.

  3. writer that appeals to robert jordan fans - George R.R. Martin - A Game of Thrones, A Storm of Swords, and A Clash of Kings (the three in the series so far).

I'm bad a picking out christmas gifts though.

  5. Anybody else trying to buy presents for little kids? I have a 7, 6, and 3 year old cousin, and I'm thinking of buying probably two presents among them... my aunt doesn't like to give them meaningless toys... so I was thinking of kid's PC software...
    Name: Rock
    Town: Arcadia

  6. Kate Elliott is good ... not hard cover though and I think her 4th book just came out ... er...

  7. mario party 4 is a fun multi-player game, fun for adults and kids alike...and as far as books are concerned I recommend The Lord of the Rings series or "Elric of Melinibone" by Michael Moorcock

and for toys look into those leap frog games, they are toys but they are educational to, so ur aunt should approve of any of those
And lead me not into temptation...I can find it myself

  8. If he enjoys Super Monkey Ball, go with the sequel. The single-player is a bit weak, but the multi-player is much improved.

Someone who loves The Beatles, but owns every single album? Any interesting paraphernalia come out recently?
