Thanks for the news! Now I can find out why everyone was only given 1 fatality![]()
Hey everyone,
This is my first time posting here (was brought here by Lhadatt, so blame him), so please forgive me for beginning my time here with an advertisement, but here goes...
On Friday, December 13th, at 9 PM Eastern (2 AM GMT), MK5.ORG, in association with the #mortalkombat IRC Network (an alliance of Mortal Kombat websites running a shared IRC channel) will be presenting Fight Night, our semi-occasional celebrity chat session. Our guests will be members of the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance development team. It will be a moderated chat, but users will be allowed to submit questions. We expect it to run for about an hour or so. The guest list isn't firmed down yet, but we expect it to include Ed Boon (MK co-creator and lead programmer) and members of the design team, plus one of the producers and one of the testers.
If you're interested in attending, just come to the #mortalkombat channel on the irc.webmaster.com server, or if you'd like to use our Java chat (or get more information on the #mortalkombat IRC Network), just click here.
Thanks!

Be sure to ask them if they think the PS2 MK: DA board @GameFAQs is full of morons.![]()
Welcome to TNL Bishop!!!
Unfortunately, I think the MK5.org boards are just as pathedic as the GameFAQs boards are mostly, but that's no knock on you.
I also think that having the developer chat (which I REALLY wanna attend) on a Friday is kinda foolish, since most anyone with a life, or anyone that works retail, will not be home for it.
But, I still check MK5.org every day in hopes that something of substance will be there.
in any case, it's good to have you here, at a forum with at least 40% intelligent people. Lookin' forward to your posts.
is this reg chat or is it going down with the ever-so-stupid Q&A bullshit? If it's the latter, forget it!
don't wanna tangle with you, I'd rather tangle with him.
I think I'm gonna bash his head in...
Well, we wanted to do it Monday or Tuesday night. However, Midway couldn't do Monday, and the other host, Scott Howell, had to work Tuesday night. Friday night was really the only night that all three of us could agree on.I also think that having the developer chat (which I REALLY wanna attend) on a Friday is kinda foolish, since most anyone with a life, or anyone that works retail, will not be home for it.
It'll be the latter, with people submitting their questions to us, which we will then relay to the channel for the team to answer. We're expecting a massive turnout; I wouldn't be surprised if we had well over a hundred people there. Our experience has shown that celebrity chats with more than twenty people or so quickly turns into anarchy, and with something this size... the Chaos Gods would be smiling down upon it. So, in order to maintain some semblance of sanity, we HAVE to moderate it. I wish we could have an informal chat, but with something on this scale... *sigh* It's not possible.is this reg chat or is it going down with the ever-so-stupid Q&A bullshit? If it's the latter, forget it!
Just my $.02...

Someone needs to tell Ed Boon this:
"One cannot hope to design a hugely successful competitive game if one is ignorant of how such games are played at the highest level."

I normally like my fighting games on a SF or VF scale, but MK still feels like a "dial-a-combo" fest which is something I can't get over.

To be a hugely successful competitive game it needs to get an arcade release first. I don't think Midway care for high level play.Originally posted by Shou-sama
