Dole, did you really skip out on the jason comics?

As well he should have, honestly. The comics.... Well, the only thing they have going for them is the art, and even that's not saying much. The writing is goofy as hell, and the story is a bit . Well, I suppose both of those points fit in the same catagory... I just bought 'em because I got the first issues, and I'm kind of a completist.

Ya know something? I post all the F13 related stuff I've got, but I just realised that there is something that I've always left off for some odd reason... The Friday the 13th NES game. I don't know why that always slips my mind.

Yeah, pretty much for the reasons BerringerX stated. They seem pretty cheesy and lame.

However, unlike Berringer, I don't really care for how the artist draws Jason, either. If I liked the art I might be willing to overlook other things. I guess the huge amount of gore is cool, but that's it.

Why, do you read them?

I have a Friday the 13th game for my old Commodore 64. Kinda lame, but whenever Jason would kill someone a pic of their head with a machete buried in it would pop up on the screen with a really loud digitized scream that always made me jump. At least that was cool.

I've only ever seen screens for this. One day I will probably track down a copy, just to have. That may never happen, since it seems quite rare these days. Kinda like the old Halloween game on Atari.

On an odd side note, a friend of mine has the Porky's game on Atari.

After looking at the screenshots, I seem to remember the F13 game being perhaps cooler than I remember.

I recall it having a failrly creepy atmosphere. You wandered around the camp, picking up weapons (things like an axe, a pitchfork, a chainsaw) and tried to find Jason. Your friend's little icons would be replaced on the status screen by tombstones whenever they got killed, and if you were feeling like a dick yourself you could kill your friends, too. Jason's mask would slowly start appearing on your status screen as well, perhaps as part of a time limit or something. I might have to dig up my old Commodore 64 and give this a shot- if I remember what the fuck to type in to load up a game, that is.

I think telling it to load "*" simply loads the first game on the floppy, if I recall. The command differs as you go down the list. There's also a command (I think "$") that shows the directory of the floppy.

I always did "*.*" but I don't know if that matters... I still have my C64 (well, really my bro's) and a TON of games for it... Frogger and Transformers were my favorites as kids. And for the record, I also liked the NES Friday the 13th game, although I'd jump everytime Jason appeared.
