yeah that's right. freddy did become a freakin pussy trying to make jokes. i remember the last freddy movie i saw (freddy's dead i think it was called) tried harder to be funny than to be scary. shame, really.

i thought so much less of meyers when i found out his mask was a william shatner mask. *shudder*

anyway im with the pimp on this one. jason is far more badass. what kill in all of the Elmwood movies matches the sleeping bag meets tree kill? they even brought it back in the horrible Jason X (much to my delight).

The one where freddy turns that kid into a god damn puppet with his VEINS is up there (4 I think). Also, the one wear he breaks the girls arms and turns her into a roach. And then crushes her.

Nightmare got lost to people who thought they knew what they were doing with him. While he got campy (they broke rules as well) people still went to see him. The later films became more like FX pieces. I think it should have been like that (it's dreams, we should see some wild shit) but they took the scary character out of him. I still love Robert Englund though.
New Nightmare was much closer to the original feeling, but the deaths had already been done before and there wasn't enough of them.

Puppet Kill:

Its Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors. It had some very cool kills, like Head into TV bit

Cockroach Kill:

Its Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4. It also had some great moments.

What I like about Freddy's films its a Dream world. Freddy can be REALLY creative in the ways he kills his victims there. While for Jason its your regular stabbing, cutting or neck breaking.
