Actually, part 6 is when Jason became a zombie. He had a kinda rotting look to him in that movie, but in 7 they really took the look to an extreme, then toned it down for part 8 for some reason (I assume budget). As for how Jason looked in X, his normal design was alright- he looked a bit more human-looking than I would have liked- he had fairly normal looking ears and actual hair. But the uber-jason was, in your words, not right.

Jason X isn't a bad movie (it's better than Jason goes to Hell). It's actually halfway decent with some good kills (face in the liquid nitrogin- nice!) until Uber-Jason shows up- then it gets pretty stupid.

Still, the best Friday movies will always be the ones made by Paramount. They started the series and made movies 1-8. At that point, they didn't feel the series had any legs left, so to speak, so they sold the rights to New Line Cinema (fine makes of the Nightmare on Elm St. movies), who felt the need to do something "different" with Jason, and as a result the two Jason movies they've made so far has been horrible (Jason goes to Hell) and decent (Jason X).

Still, they seem to have returned to both Jason's and Freddy's roots for FvJ, since they can't really make an effective movie with them fighting each other unless they stick with the basics that audiences know.

Well, WHile I agree on some parts of Jason X, overall that movie sucked. Sure it was better than parts 8 and 9, but those are worst Fridays in the series.

Couple of kills in X were good, as above mentioned Freeze Face, but rest were really stupid(the fuck will all neckbreaking???), I hated everyone on that ship, and whole ending was riduculosly bad, and unnecessary.

VR scene with babes was funny though

Why the fuck is Kane Hodder not playing Jason??!?!! I heard him on Howard Stern a couple months back(maybe a year ago) announce they were working on F vs J. I can't believe he won't be Jason, he was teh best one ever. I met him at a haunted hayride a couple of years back. He had a really good sense of humor. The conversation went a little something like this as I walked up to get the hockey mask signed.

Me: So, how what was it like beating that bitch up against the tree in part 7?

Kane: You know, out of all of the movies I've done, that is my favorite kill by far. Something about it just seemed so damn funny.

Myself&Kane: Laughter

Kane speaking about my girlfriend at the time: You know, she kind of looks like the lead girl from part 7.


Overall he was a cool guy, big as hell. It's a shame he won't be reprising his role.

Here's part of an interview I found online with Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) that talks about why Kane isn't Jason:

ROBERT: It was never meant as an insult to Kane except for the reality that Kane is not in it, which you can perceive, as an insult because Kane was certainly responsible for the popularity of Jason in the last 10 years. Director Ronny Yu, who has lots of strong stuff out there, I mean we loved "Bride of Chucky"...well, Ronny had this image of Jason. Now I'm not sure if it derived from a Friday the 13th movie as much as from an illustration, a comic book what-not, but he always presumed that Jason was gigantically big and because it's "Freddy Vs Jason", he always thought that in this comic book style that he was going to exploit, Jason would be larger than life, almost basketball player-like. He's just absolutely huge in this movie!

(Arrow Note: Ken Kirzinger, who plays Jason in FVJ, is 6"5 and Kane Hodder is 6"3...

I personally thing they should have kept Kane as Jason as well. Kirzinger may be a little taller, but he's not as big as Kane.

Well, all is not lost. I mean, lots of other guys have played Jason before Kane. I mean, one of my favorite Jason's was the one in Part 6 (Jason Lives), played by a guy named C.J. Graham. Still, I think they should have kept Kane, but I'll enjoy the movie nonetheless.

Well, the release date is no longer Friday, June 13th. New Line has decided to release Damb and Dumberer:When Harry Met Lloyd then. Also, the trailer will not be with Final Destination 2. Instead the trailer for "Willard" will be attached.
