Thread: Its wrong to dl and burn games but...

  1. I had a long post about legality versus morality in regards to the copying of sound but I lost it in an IE crash.

    So.

    Nevermind.

  2. Another way to the poor house: being a college student and doing a required internship. Putting in full time work and not getting monitary compensation even for travel.

Communism isn't "bad," it's the motivation of the people behind any particular Communist govt. Likewise, Capitalism isn't "good," it's their bias toward their system being "correct."
If I have to hear the ol' Communism is great in theory but it doesn't work out in practice thing one more time Im gonna scream. I swear I have heard that line enough for three lifetimes.

No shit it doesnt work out in practice. Very few things do.

And I agree with kedawa. Sending some guy $200 for a damn $17.99 Actraiser CD is to me far worse than pirating the thing outright. Plus he's also correct in that the sound developers already got paid for their work, and a bulk (as in, 99.95%) of profits from the game are derived from the game, not the soundtrack.

These aren't making excuses, Ive pirated games and CDs and whatever. And I dont make excuses for that. But all of what he wrote is true... and the law can say what it wishes, but facts are facts.

  4. The developers don't get much for those albums at all. They'd be better off packing them in with the game. I bought the Halo one though, and Panzers. The rest are pirated. Yar!

  5. Is it wrong to download and burn game tunes? It is if you are using MP3's when vastly superior .NSF, .GYM, and .SPC files are available! I do loves me some .NSF's...
