hehehe Whatever, steal away if you really like the idea. Group critques are all about stealing ideas anyway.Originally posted by mrdandy
That's a very cool idea, Toro! I'd feel really guilty stealing the dea from ya... hehehe. Ah, but it'd be a bitch to draw, though.
If you feel really guilty, put in a special mention of my name in the fine, fine print of your book's credits or something.
Certainly I agree with you... but you cannot argue what your publisher/editor says, which is an unfortunate truth of all creative industries. I guess, you might need to figure out the priorities in your book. For instance, what if you made concessions on character design but kept a personality to the type of person you wanted ? I mean, you take a look at the female warriors traditionally portrayed in fantasy art and it's rare they will be portrayed as a hard-bodied body builder... but yet, you would never describe them as dainty or cutesy.Heh. That ain't happening. Eventhough I draw naked women in suggestive poses (or worse) that does not mean that I'm a chauvinist. I believe that women can be anything a man can be. I even believe that most are more intelligent and stable than us guys.
Exactly. The American comic industry is settling into a very distrubing trend where all semblance of story and visual storytelling in art is being sacrificed for style and flash. A lot of comic artists for the big companies (Marvel, DC, Image) have no business drawing comics for them... some of them can't even draw to a quality usually found in more independant publishers. That and the storytelling. Fan service is also alot more plentiful... in fact, it's become a bit redundant I believe.
Frankly, I'm none too impressed with this ridiculous (badly done) "American anime" style trend for bunch of big name titles. A lot of artists are only in the industry because their style has big eyes and cel shaded art, rather than strong technical drawing abilities, solid composition and strong sequential storytelling skills. It's poisoning the market.

. I just don't think a slim chick could put on a 30-50 pound armor and weild a 5 1/2 foot long sword with ease. Frank Frazetta said the same thing himself but his girls are more curvy rather than hard-boiled

That's a fresh-ass pick you have their Dandy.I like the ink job you done on it also(note to self get Photoshop)IMO leaving her mask on adds some mystery to your character. When people have a chance to read your comic & see her, they'll be like"I wonder if she's fine as hell under that mask".3 questions before I go:1.Are yuo going to color it?2.Are we going to see another pics like this soon & 3.When are you going to have your own site?
