The EXORCIST "The version you've never seen

I've been a huge Horror fan for awhile yet somehow I never got around to seeing the Exorcist. It came out a few years before I was born. The Movie is almost 30 years old but looks great today!

The acting and special effects are superb, but the Movie never really scared me though quick glimpses of demons was a nice touch.

Still a great Movie, but might have had more of an impact had I seen it years ago.

I actually ended up seeing the parody of it in Scary Movie 2 first and maybe that took some of the scare out of it?

The 11 or so minutes of added footage wasn't too special, though the Staircase descent was cool.

    Any fans?

  2. Well, Even though I like orgininal Exorcist, I never found it to be very scary. Sure it has plenty of disturbing moments, but it also have many of slow parts. Granted, I havent seen it in about 10 years now, so I might change my opionin.

I personally prefer Exorcist 3. Its one of the few movies, that actually Scare me THe infamous Hallway scene gets me every time I watch it. Picked up the dvd of it for $9 at Best Buy earlier this week.

  3. The hallway scene in the hospital was brilliant. The rest of the movie didn't do much for me, but that scene makes the whole flick worth watching.

The original Exorcist was a great movie, more disturbing than scary, though as a kid is really freaked me out. It certainly had great atmosphere. Any movie with a crucifix mastrubation scene that turns into a lesbian mother-daughter oral sex insest scene is okay in my book.

  4. This was one of the few popular horror movies I had not seen until recently. I was very disappointed, especially after hearing it is the "Scariest Movie Ever". However, I'm sure that at the time of it's release, it was unlike anything many people had seen before. Before my time I guess

  5. Scared the fuck out of me, I couldn't sleep the night after seeing it. I rented the version you never seen a while back this year on dvd, and I never seen it before. Maybe it has something to do being brought up a christian, the fact the performers put everything they had into it (especially Linda Blair, she must have been fucked up by the experience), and its such a masterfully shot movie (the guy who directed The French Connection directed it) that I had a sense of real evil unfolding.

  6. I fell asleep the first time I watched the Exorcist, shows you how much it scared me. Sure, it had its moments but it didn't really phase me.

When my father saw it in theaters when it first came out the guy in front of him had a seizure when Linda Blair's head turns 360 degrees. heh.

Yeah, I agree. I was suprised that they had a child doinghalf the things they had her doing. I mean, stabbing herself in the crotch with a cross? And she was such a potty-mouth!

Still, when she told the priest that "your mother sucks dicks in hell", I was rolling with laughter. That was awesome.

  8. Well, Linda Blair did had a pretty rough life later on ih her career, even doing porn.

Plus later on, she appeared in Repossesed, Leslie Nielsen spoof of Exorcist, to reprise the role of possesed woman. Most of people hate that flick, but I though it was funny.
