Yeah, I saw the gross figures, and I think its well deserved.
It just strange to see Jakson being a director of such a huge trilogy, after his low budget films of old.

Needless to say, I'm really happy that LOTR:TTT did so well this weekend; broke $100 mil and scored in one weekend roughly a third of the original's gross.

Two Towers better not get snubbed for Best Picture this year. Hell, I think it "towers" over everything else nominated [/badpun]

Death never looked so good.
I agree, Jakson needs to get Best Director, and TT is the best picture.
FOTR should have been the Best Picture last year.

Yeah, hard to believe this is the same guy who brought us Bad Taste. And for those of you who have seen that classic...holy crap, has Peter Jackson let himself go physically! He must have gained 100 pounds since then.Originally posted by Despair

Meet the Feebles was pretty good, and I liked The Frighteners as well.
The only Jackson film I havent seen is Heavenly Creatures, its just not something I'm very interested in.
As for the Oscars, while it may be nominated, I highly doubt it'll win best film or director this year. I'm thinking they'll give PJ his dues for Return of the King, though. I hope Andy Serkis is nominated this year for best supporting actor for his role of Gollum![]()

There are alot of hefty candidates. About Schmidt is a great artistic film, and artistic films almost always win. I hope it does in the end, but realistically it probably will not.
