Thread: Kill Bill

  1. Kill Bill

I've been excited about Kill Bill, a martial arts film that is being directed by Quentin Tarrantino, for quite some time. I even read part of the script. While seeing Gangs of New York today, I was thinking "how cool would it be if they showed the teaser for Kill Bill?"

    The answer? "very".

Tarrantino + Uma + martial arts + the production skills of RZA = limitless potential.

The entire time the teaser was playing I had a huge grin on my face. I've never been this excited for a film.

  2. I can't wait to see the trailer. I'm thinking with even the next two Matrix movies, X-men 2, The Hulk, and Return of the King coming up, Kill Bill could end up the best movie of next year.....nah, Return of the King will be better

  3. Yeah, I'm very excited about Kill Bill project too. Cant wait to see the trailer. Hopefully it will get to the net in the next few days. I will post it here, once I find it.

  4. Kill Bill looks very cool. Hard to believe Tarrantino's considered such a big-shot director and this is only his 4th film.

It must be because of his acting career

  6. Whoa, I have to check out this trailer. Though I'm very skeptical when it comes to Tarantino and pure action flicks, it's been a while since I've heard from the guy and I'll definitely be interested in checking this one out. The last time I heard from Tarantino is when he brought over Wong Kar-Wai's Chungking Express (which is an excellent, excellent film) to the States. What exactly is RZA's role in this film? Is he overseeing the soundtrack?

I'm not going to read it until I've seen it, but I'm sure someone is interested in this.

Basically. I think he is tagged as the producer. One of the Metallica guys is also involved, Lars I think.

I remember reading this interview about RZA's visit with Quentin. They just talked about hong kong flicks and both amazed each other with their knowledge about the subject.

Amazing Trailer, tons of action, best preview in awhile. Uma taking on swarms of enemies with her sword was too cool.

    Not really.

Pulp Fiction cost about 7 million dollars to make, and was the 1st independent movie to make over 100 million dollars, and ended up at 212.9m worldwide. I suppose that, along with the Golden Palm award and such, make him respected and a big shot in some sense.

People seem to respect the Wachowski Brothers (2 films), PT Anderson (4 Films) and Wes Anderson (3 Films) as well.

Hollywood runs on the principle that a person can strike gold once, then make so-so films over and over trying to strike again.

Orsen Welles, John Singleton, Kevin Costner and so on, and so on.
